TO BE INTEGRAL WITH ART:
is to be inclusive. It is to ask, 'is this as full as I can make it?' It is to ask that again, and again. It is to create at your edge of honesty, and just over it, as you leap into the unknown. To be integral with art is to open your areas of contraction, to open as the contraction, and make artifact of this tender, delicate new awareness, as do so transparently. To be integral with art is to commit to a practice of openness and fullness, through activities and experiments that jog our consciousness awake and vibrant. It is to realize the spectrum of ways that people view, absorb, and interpret art. It is to realize how the same spectrum of capacities can operate in your own thoughts, actions, opinions, and beliefs, as a creator/artist. To be integral with art is to experiment in fullness, in a spirit that seeks knowledge, wisdom, and the experience of common sense amidst novel emergence. It is to ride the wave of mystery, attached to its flow yet aware of its original taste. To be integral with art is to assemble a full-course meal in metaphor for your audience in ways that they did not even realize they craved. It is to fashion your medium for satisfaction at all emotional touchpoints. Even if you leave them wantin' more, the forms you do present evoke that deep hum, that resonant extension of consciousness, that fills them up, flushed with life, death, and resurrection, aware of everyday life in new ways. So cook your artwork in all directions, see how they chew it, and use that responsive reflection to craft another intuitive meal. And another. And another. And yet another. To be integral with art is to experiment at the plate that lies between your own intuitive voice, the aisles of possibile ingredients, and the ability for others to taste and recognize your discreet sensual combinations.
