INTEGRAL ARTISTRY INTENSIVE
May 28th - May 30th, 2004
Willow Pearson, MA, MT-BC, LPC
with Matthew Dallman, Integral University Art Domain Host As social artists, performing artists, and expressive artists, we are often working at the leading edge of consciousness. Creating at the edge of language, at the edge of culture, at the edge of vision. As actors, musicians, writers, graphic artists, photographers, poets, dancers, visual artists, social artists, multimedia artists and performers, our work re-imagines the world and our place in it. In what integral philosopher Ken Wilber aptly names a 'world gone slightly mad', we re-vision our place in this Kosmic play and - in many forms and across many perspectives - offer up the fruits of our creative devotion. This short course provides the grounded tools of assessment and application, rooted in both theory and praxis, to identify and work with your own artistic edges. In a supportive and challenging group context, participants will perform an integral assessment of themselves, their work, and their audience, in order to pinpoint those areas that will best facilitate their artistic growth. We all want to deepen and expand our artistic expression and its reception in/engagement with the world. We don't always know the most skillful means by which to do so. What actions will best serve our next artistic steps, both within ourselves and out in the world? Join instructors Willow Pearson, John Forman, and Matthew Dallman to identify those right actions. Deepening and broadening our artistic path involves deepening our relationship to Self, Nature and Culture. Because the universe itself is composed of these three interdependent aspects of being-in-the-world, an artist's path will be greatly enriched and enlivened by a conscious understanding of and intentional development in these three domains. Together we will deepen our relationship to these three vital domains, in the service of our artistic path. Willow, John, and Matthew will offer participants individually tailored exercises, based on each person's integrally informed assessments, to identify and actualize the leading edge of their own artistic development. Each participant will engage in individual, dyad and group exercises centered on artistic practice, artistic presentation, and the business practices that allow one's artistry to be sustained and supported in the world. Through this course, participants will be provided with experiences and tools to energize and catalyze your own unique artistry. All creative practitioners at all levels of experience and professional involvement are welcome. The integral approach is designed to serve each participant at their own artistic edge, wherever that edge may be. You are encouraged to bring an illustration of your work and a willingness to vision and step into the next stage of your art life. You, your artwork, and the world-gone-slightly-mad that needs your artistic vision will be glad that you came. Registration Fees:
